HYBRID EVENT - CLOSING CEREMONY
Brooklyn, NY
1:00PM-3:30PM
"We Are the Future, We Are the Change: Reimagining Reproductive Justice Through Art, Culture & Innovation"
True transformation in postpartum care and advocacy requires a fundamental shift in how we lead, teach, and co-create change. The future of reproductive justice is being shaped by young people—those who are bold, expressive, sexually liberated, and unafraid to challenge oppressive systems. They are activists, artists, tech innovators, healers, and organizers who are dismantling outdated paradigms and building a new world where Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) birthing people have full autonomy, support, and access to the care they deserve.
For this final, youth-led session of National Postpartum Awareness Week, we are passing the mic to diverse young leaders—LGBTQIA+, non-binary, Black, Indigenous, immigrants, neurodivergent individuals, and others—who are at the forefront of transforming sexual and reproductive health through radical imagination, innovation, and creativity. Through art, culture, technology, and storytelling, they will lead an interactive experience that reclaims power, disrupts oppressive systems, and redefines what postpartum justice looks like for the next generation.
This hybrid session—held live in Brooklyn and virtually on Zoom—will challenge traditional leadership models and demonstrate how decolonized, community-centered approaches can radically shift postpartum care. Expect a vibrant, experiential space where ancestral wisdom meets future-forward activism, and where the next generation of birth justice leaders teach us all how to dream beyond what is, and co-create what must be.
Because the future is already here. And the change is now.
